Fragile. Handle with care…

Posted on May 18, 2026 by Suzi Moret

This morning I felt clear.

Hopeful, even.

I had been thinking deeply about some changes in my life and, for the first time in a while, the thought of making a decision actually felt peaceful.

I was enjoying ordinary things again.

My coffee.

The morning light.

Simple tasks.

Then one comment from a customer completely knocked the wind out of me.

A customer asked if I am my business partner’s mother.  Whaaaat????  Since we are about the same age my mind immediately to “do I really look that much older than her?”

Normally I might have brushed something like that off.

But today because of the fragile state I was in…it hit hard.

Not because I believed it. But because sometimes when we are already emotionally worn thin, even small moments land like a punch to the heart.

It made me realize how fragile we can become during seasons of uncertainty, stress, exhaustion, or transition.

In fragile seasons, we need to protect ourselves a little more carefully.

Rest more.

Speak more kindly to ourselves.

Notice what restores us instead of only what drains us.

One comment changed the emotional direction of my entire day.

But tonight…I’m reminding myself:

A moment is not a verdict.

A feeling is not the truth of who we are.

Some seasons are simply tender ones.

Tonight I am still fragile and I am handling myself with care.

Carefully,

Suzi
